Logic Blocks

Logic Blocks are a fun way of learning the basics of logic circuits.

The kit consists of one battery block, a selection of input and output blocks and a controller. Input blocks include motion and light sensors. Outputs include an alarm and a pair of motorised wheels.

So you can build a simple circuit that beeps when you wave your hand in front of it, or a car that only drives forward if the way ahead is not dark.

Pretty cool!

The controller can then be used to turbo charge the fun and learning. With it, you can set logical conditions for your circuit. Using the car example above, you could set it to wait a number of seconds before reacting to darkness (because maybe someone will turn a light on for it?), then you can program it to move a certain distance in a chosen direction to seek out further light or dark areas.

Does that sound a bit complicated?

It's not!

The blocks are colour-coded, so inputs are orange and outputs are blue. They fit together really easily and they all have pictures on them, showing what they do. There is also an instruction manual that takes you step-by-step through multiple builds.

The end result is a non-fiddly and easy to understand product that will begin to teach your kids the type of logic that underpins the workings of all computers and robots.
